Fitness by the Sea has become synonymous with excellence in the field of day camps. The FBS formula for success blends an experienced and spirited staff with dynamic and creative activities, offered in an encouraging, nurturing environment. Our emphasis is on friendship, fun, and personal growth.
We offer five different locations in southern California. You will find 2 locations in the Pacific Palisades, 2 in Jonathan Club, and 1 in Santa Monica.

We like to say that Fitness by the Sea has “something for everyone.” We offer water activities, creative activities, team sports, individual sports, and theme days. On a typical day, our campers can go swimming, dance, take nature walks, watch a magic show, participate in arts & crafts, play soccer, baseball, or volleyball, learn to juggle, have fun with arts & crafts … and much much more.
Fitness by the Sea has been called “the safest beach camp ever seen” by the Chief of LA County Lifeguards. We take safety very seriously. Here is just a short list of safety features at FBS:
Having an experienced staff is one aspect of Fitness by the Sea that makes us different from other beach camps in Southern California. The average age our our staff members is 28 years old and we always maintain a 6 to 1 camper to staff ratio. During surfing, the ratio drops to 3:1 to ensure our camper’s safety in the water.
Staff members at Fitness by the Sea go through rigorous training before camp begins. They are trained in safety, child development, conflict resolution, leadership, and more. Staff members actively participate in all activities.
Our online enrollment system makes is easy to enroll now and select the dates that you’d like your child to attend Fitness by the Sea. You can register your child for any days you wish over the course of the entire summer – non-consecutive day’s are okay – and simply ask that each child sign up for a minimum of 5 days. When you register, you’ll be required to choose your attendance schedule for the summer. But you have the option, at no additional cost, to change your dates (with 24 hour advance notice) as needed.
